Low voltage warning light illuminates. Alternator will not fully charge gill or concord battery.

1. Regulator adjustment too low.
2. Dead cell in concord or gill battery. With engine. Momentarily jump the A & B or 1 & 2 pins together on the plug. Aircraft ammeter should show heavy rate of charge. If heavy rate of charge is observed, replace regulator.
10. Defective wiring from regulator to alternator. Check resistance from "F2" terminal of regulator to pin B or 2 of regulator plug. Normal indication is a very low resistance. If reading indicates no, or poor continuity, repair or replace wiring from regulator to alternator.
11. Defective alternator. Check resistance from F2 to f1 terminal of alternator. Normal indication is 3-4 ohms (10 to 15 ohms on Prestolite ALV 9400). If resistance is high or low repair or replace alternator.
12. Faulty diode in alternator. Usually accompanied by alternator noise in aircraft radio.
13. Low voltage at high loads or at cruise rpm on a gear driven (engine engines. For the gear driven continental engines, refer to continental engine Service Bulletin M89-5 or latest revision.
