Aircraft Compass Problems? Compass Degauss

Degaussing and the Compass Aircraft

Degauss is the removal of residual magnetism

Problem: Aircraft structure has become magnetized resulting in inaccurate compass readings. Existing airplane degaussing practices are often not effective because degaussing equipment isn't powerful enough or wasn't designed for the type of structure found in aircraft.

Solution: John Schwaner of Sacramento Sky Ranch Inc. has developed a degaussing probe suitable for aircraft. Since most people only need to use the probe once or twice, it is available for rent. Includes degaussing instructions.

Features: This completely portable unit comes with a 25 foot power cord and plugs into a standard wall outlet. It uses the most efficient degaussing method: decaying alternating field. It is powerful enough to degauss 4 inch thick ferrous metal (current draw is 7 amps). However, it uses dual directional probes that allows one to direct the degaussing field to a specific sight while reducing field radiation to undesirable sights. Kit comes with a portable field probe (Magnetometer) to map out before and after field intensities.

Rental Price: One week rental is $75.00 not including shipping costs. If it doesn't work then write John Schwaner a short note and I will refund the $75.00.
