Failure to feather. Sluggish feather

1. Governor quadrant control does not provide enough travel to allow governor speed-adjusting lever to move hard against low rpm stop.

 2. High-pitch pin stop fails to slide out at feathering rpm.

 3. Weak or broken feathering spring.

 4. Incorrect governor lift rod (feathering) setting.

5. Crankshaft oil control plug (Hubbard plug) in the forward end of crankshaft not properly installed.

6.Air charge lost or low

7. Check governor drain function.

8. Internal corrosion (usually in blade bearings or pitch changing mechanism) that result in excessive friction. Propeller must be checked at a propeller repair facility.
