Aircraft oil sampling - Metal in oil. Continental engine, long brass slivers

1. A mixture of ground up steel and long hair-like copper slivers is from the Continental starter adapter. Spring failure of the starter adapter allows the spring end to cut brass slivers from the starter adapter gear. The spring also cuts steel from the starter adapter housing cavity.
