Sky Ranch Guide to Aircraft Hose

Minimum Burst Pressure

A design pressure (PSI) which indicates the relative strength of a hose. This amount of pressure is applied and at no point below that pressure should the hose burst or a fitting blow off. The application of the minimum burst pressure constitutes destruction of the hose, even though the hose does not burst. Minimum burst pressure is nominally set at four times working pressure of the hose.

Minimum burst pressure is sometimes stated at minimum bend radius and/or maximum operating temperature.
