Sky Ranch Guide to Aircraft Hose

HSP hose tube material as used in 156 hose

HSP is a high temperature polymer with a CPE (chlorinated polyethylene) base, trade name Tyrin, which is essentially non-aging and exempt from MIL-STD-1523A

The most predictive "aging" test of an electrometric type compound is the hot oil circulation test of SAE J1019 which requires a 750 hour (4 1/2 week), 300 degree F. oil circulation with 200 degree F. ambient temperature. HSP exceeds this requirement by a factor of 3 to 5 times. 156 and 176 hose are HSP based.
