Definition of Maximum Operating Pressure

Working or operating pressure - the pressure at which the hose is recommended to operate - stated in PSI.

The maximum impulse pressure is what the hose must be built to withstand. This may be totally different (and greater) than the operating pressure especially with hydraulic systems. As mechanics we may know the operating pressure but may not have any idea what the impulse pressure of the system might be.
