The
Bendix S1200 series magneto is the largest, heaviest, and most powerful
magneto currently available.
Notice the TCM cast into the housing. Teledyne Continental Motors now
owns the Bendix magneto product line. Incidentally, the TCM logo also
indicates that the housing is a newer style and a lot less prone to
cracking.

Referred
to as the "throw-a-way" magneto because it only cost $45.00 new
- you used it for 600 hours and then threw it away and bought another. No
repair parts were ever produced for this magneto. This magneto has been
obsolete for many years.
If you have one of these magnetos on your airplane, please remove it
before further flight - they are way past any reasonable operational
period and no longer airworthy.

The
Bendix S4LN-xxx, S4RN-xxx, S6LN-xxx, and S6RN-xxx are the most common
series of Bendix magneto. These are slowly being replaced by the newer SC
series magneto. S200 are the retard breaker magnetos
"shower-of-sparks". |
 |
The
Slick 662 and 664 are obsolete. Used on lots of Cessna's, they were one of
Slick's best magnetos. They are no longer supported by Unison Industries
(Slick). |
 |
The
Eiseman magneto is also obsolete and no longer being supported by the
manufacturer. It has become increasingly difficult to purchase replacement
parts. |

Bendix
SF series Magneto
Affectionately called the "lunchbox"
magneto because of it's shape.
This magneto is obsolete and no longer being supported by the
manufacturer. |
