1. Brush block out of alignment. 2. Slip ring wobbles. To check alignment of slip ring assembly, securely attach a dial indicator to the engines within any 4 inches of slip ring travel. Error may be introduced in the readings by pushing or pulling on the propeller while rotating due to the loose fit in the propeller thrush bearings. 3. Rough slip rings.
